Rules Baldur's Gate III is based on a modified version of the Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition (D&D 5e) tabletop RPG ruleset. BG3 is the third main game in the Baldur's Gate series. The name and flavor text are both a reference to another Gearbox game, Battleborn specifically, the character named "El Dragón" whose moves mirror the effects of the artifact itself.A community all about Baldur's Gate III, the early-access role-playing video game by Larian Studios. It does apply to skills/anointments that directly increase the melee damage of the user, rather then adding on bonus damage. However, this doesn't seem to apply to anointments that grant additional elemental damage like 150% bonus radiation damage or 75% cryo damage while terrified. The stronger the melee attack, the higher the damage over time. The damage-over-time effect is based on the damage produced by the initial melee hit.The Unleash the Dragon artifact grants two of the following bonuses: Unleash the Dragon has excellent synergy with melee anointments, melee skills, the Psycho Stabber pistol, the Face-Puncher, Roid shields, the Stinger, and the Groundbreaker Guardian Rank reward.īecause the Unleash the Dragon has only 2 damage increasing bonuses and one relatively weak resistance, it's almost always worth it to find one with increased melee damage and incendiary damage. When combining that anointment with the Unleash the Dragon, the incendiary damage created by the Unleash the Dragon will be extremely high. Notably, the "Gain 300% increased Weapon Damage against enemies above 90% health" gun anointment does work on melee attacks. This means that creating a single melee hit with high damage can cause the damage over time to deal massive amounts of damage, one-shotting even most bosses. However, the important thing to note is that the strength of the incendiary damage is based on the damage of the initial melee hit. En fuego! – 100% incendiary chance for melee attacks, sliding and ground slams.Īt first glance, the incendiary damage over time might seem like a far worse option for a melee build than an artifact that grants more melee damage or other special effects like the Static Charge.
